Butterball – Nutrient Dense BeveragePosted: March 3, 2013
I have been using and recommending this great “drink” from Aajonus Vonderplanitz in his book The Recipe for Living Without Disease! He calls it the lubrication drink – I just call it the Butterball.
This beverage provides the good fats, satisfies hunger and just tastes great. Butter is early on the dairy introduction structure so this works well so long as you can tolerate eggs. When I have this for breakfast I am satisfied and often forget to have lunch until 1:00 or 2:00 pm. This is wonderful support for issues such as: constipation, dry or thin skin supporting the liver and gall bladder.
- about 1/4 – 1/2 cup butter, melted (preferably raw from a grass-fed source)
- 1-2 raw egg (or just yolk your preference)
- juice of a lemon (or 1/2 grapefruit),
- 1 tsp honey or more to taste
- sea salt, optional
Melt butter and mix with other ingredients. An immersion blender works great for this but you can just use a whisk.
Variation: Add flavoring with Young Living essential oils such as orange, grapefruit, lemon, ocotea, cinnamon or clove.
Note: If not currently tolerating butter, try with ghee.
